Can I change my details after registering for the challenge?

How many members are allowed to participate?
In this challenge, only one member should apply and will act as the representative for the startup in question.
How can I participate?
You can sign up at https://innovation-thinksport.agorize.com/en/challenges/challenge-the-future-of-play and make sure to confirm your email address. Donโt forget to click "Participate" in order to receive announcements and notifications about the Challenge.
Do I get any updates about the challenge?
Whenever there is an update, you will receive an email notification from the admin to your registered email address. This is only applicable to participants of the challenge.
You can always use the messaging feature and reach out to your challenge admin.
What is the eligibility criteria?
We are looking for innovative solutions that are also practical and scalable and we are aiming in attracting:
- Startups & Scaleups. A business entity, regardless of its business area but in line with at least one of the sub-topics of the challenge. Startups may be required, in Sponsorโs sole discretion, to provide proof of (i) company registration by submitting a registration certificate issued within the last three (3) months, or ongoing company registration, or any trade registry and proof ensuring the registration of the entity in the relevant country, and (ii) a valid professional insurance policy subscription.
This Challenge is not open to:
- Established companies โtypically defined as businesses that have been operating for several years (more than 10 years), have significant revenue (exceeding 1 million CHF), or a large workforce (more than 50 full-time employees).
Application Phase
What is the judging criteria for my submission in the Application Phase?
The experts will evaluate the Application Phase submissions based on the following criteria:
- Innovation: How innovative is the solution in its use of new or existing technology to solve the problem described in the Brief? Are there other solutions available and if so, how does this differentiate from them?
- Relevancy: How well does the Deliverable respond to the specific need(s) set out in the Brief?
- Feasibility: How feasible is the solution to put into practice? Does the solution make sense financially? Will the solution be sustainable over the long term?
- Impact: What is the scale of potential impact? How broad is the impact? How many people will your solution reach? How significant is the impact?
- Clarity: How well do you articulate your solution and the potential impact it will have on society or business?
What do I need to submit for the Application Phase?
For the Application Phase, you must submit :
- A proposal of maximum 10 slides (PPT or PDF format) including but not limited to:
- Problem/solution
- Market and total addressable market (TAM)
- Value proposition and positioning
- Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
- Go-to-market strategy
- Business/revenue model
- Traction: KPI metrics and milestones
- Business Forecast
- Team presentation
- A 2-minutes video presenting your solution (MOV or MP4 format). It is also possible to put a link to an external platform (Youtube for example). The duration must not exceed two minutes otherwise the startup will be disqualified.
Your proposals must be in English.
How do I know if my startup is shortlisted?
The results announcement for the shortlisted startups will be made on 25 March 2025. The announcement will be made via the platform announcement.
What is the deadline to apply?
The deadline of the application is 19 March 2025 - 12:00pm CET.
Semi-Final
What do I need to prepare for the Semi-Final?
Nothing. Your 2-minutes video submitted during the Application Phase will be displayed during the Semi-Final to our Challenge Board who will evaluate your proposition.
Right after the video is finished, you will have 3-minutes to answer any questions they may have.
Your presence is therefore mandatory.
Final
How do I know if my startup is selected for the Final Event?
The startups who will progress to the Final Event will be announced by 11 April 2025. The announcement will be made via the platform announcement.
How do I prepare for the pitch?
You will need to prepare for a 2-minutes pitch in English to present on a stage at THE SPOT on the 13 May 2025 at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
There will also be a 3-minutes Q&A session that you can prepare for by anticipating the questions that may be asked by the jury.
Your running order will be communicated at a later stage.
What is the judging criteria for the final pitch?
The same as stipulated for the Application Phase and Semi-Final.
When and where will the Final Event take place?
The Final will take place on-site at THE SPOT on the 13 May 2025 at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. You will receive a dedicated link to register your startup at the event. More information will be released closer to the time.
Presence is mandatory. There will be no possibility to do a hybrid Final.
Can I participate at THE SPOT if I am not finalist?
Yes. There will be a Startup area where you can showcase your solution and buy a Booth and you will have the possibility to purchase a Delegate pass. More info at : https://thespot.ch/.
Please note that booths and tickets are limited; ThinkSport reserves the right to refuse certain startups without providing a reason.
